நெஞ்சாரப் பொய்தன்னைச் சொல்ல வேண்டாம்

 ஒரு ஊரில்  ஒரு பொய்யன் இருந்தான். அவனது வேலையே எப்போதும் பொய் சாட்சி சொல்வதுதான்.உண்மையை மறைத்து தான் பொய் சொல்கிறோம் என்பதைத் தெரிந்தே அவன் பொய் சொல்லும் பழக்கம் உள்ளவன். அந்த ஊரில் எல்லாவித கெட்ட பழக்கங்களையும் உடைய ஒருவன்தான் அவனுக்கு நண்பன். அந்த கெட்டவன் செய்யும் அநியாயங்களில் இருந்து அவனைக் காப்பாற்ற இந்த பொய்யன் தன்னுடைய மனசாட்சிக்கு விரோதமாக பொய்சாட்சி சொல்லி அவனைக் காப்பாற்றுவான்.

 உண்மைக்கு மாறாக பல முறை பொய்யன் மனமறிய பொய் சாட்சி சொல்லியுள்ளான்.

இப்படியாக அவன் பொய் சொல்லியதில் கணவன் மனைவி பிரிவு, பெற்றோர் மகன் பிரிவு, அநியாயமாக ஏழையின் நிலத்தைப் பிடுங்கி பணக்காரன் எடுத்துக் கொண்டது, நியாயமாக வியாபாரம் செய்த வியாபாரி நட்டப்பட்து என்பது போல பலர் அவனால் பாதிக்கபட்டு உள்ளார்கள்.

கிராமத்து பழக்கப்படி அவன் கோவிலில் கற்பூரம் அணைத்து பொய் சத்தியம் சொல்வான்;  தன்னுடைய மேல் துண்டைப் போட்டு தாண்டுவான். இப்படி பொய் சத்தியம் செய்வதால் யார் பலன் அடைகிறார்களோ அவர்களிடம் பணம்,பொருள் முதலிய சன்மானம் 

வாங்கிக் கொள்வான். அவனால் பாதிப்படைந்தவர்கள் அவனுக்கு  நன்றாக சாபம் கொடுப்பார்கள். அந்த ஊர் மக்கள் எல்லாருமே அவனை வெறுத்து ஒதுக்கி வைத்தார்கள். அவனுக்கு எந்த உதவியும் செய்யக் கூடாது என்று முடிவு செய்து இருந்தார்கள். ஆனால் அவன் எதையும் பொருட்படுத்தவே மாட்டான்.”எந்த சாபமும் என்னை ஒன்றும் செய்துவிடாது; உங்கள் உதவி இல்லாமல் நான் வாழ்ந்து காட்டுவேன்”என்று எல்லோருக்கும் பதிலாகச் சொல்வான்.

  திடீரென ஒருநாள் காலையில் அவனது ஒரு கையும் ஒரு காலும் செயலற்றுப் போய்விட்டது;அவன் வாய் கோணலாக இழுத்துக் கொண்டது ;அவனுக்கு சரியாகப் பேச்சு வரவில்லை. இதனால் அவனால் வீட்டை விட்டு எங்கும்  வெளியில் போகமுடியாத நிலைமை ஏற்பட்டுவிட்டது. அவனது நிலையைக் கண்டு அவன் மேல் இரக்கம் காட்டுபவர் யாருமே இல்லை. அவனால் பலன் பெற்றவர்கள்கூட அவனைவிட்டு விலகிப் போனார்கள்.

வீட்டில் சாப்பாட்டுக்கே வழியில்லாத நிலைமை வந்தது.அவன் பிள்ளைகள் பள்ளிக்குச் செல்வதை நிறுத்திவிட்டு எடுபிடி வேலைக்குச் செல்லத் துவங்கினர். அவன் மனைவியும் அருகில் உள்ள வீடுகளில் வீட்டு வேலை செய்யச் சென்றாள். அதன்மூலம் அவர்கள் அரைவயிறு சாப்பிடவும், பொய்யனுக்கு மருத்துவ செலவு செய்யவும் முடிந்தது. தன்னுடைய குடும்பம் தன்னால்தான் இந்த இழிவான நிலைமைக்கு வந்ததாக அவன் மனதுக்குள் வருந்தினான். 

இனி வருந்தி என்ன பயன்; நெஞ்சாரப் பொய் சொல்லி பலருடைய வாழ்வை அழித்ததற்கு அவனுக்கு தக்க தண்டனை கிடைத்துவிட்டது. அவனால் ஒரு பாவமும் அறியாத அவன் குடு்ம்பமே துன்பப்பட நேர்ந்தது.

   எனவே, நாம் மனமறிந்து பொய் சொல்லாமல் நேர்மையாக வாழ்ந்து நன்மை பெறுவோம். எல்லாருக்கும் நல்லவர்களாக வாழ்வோம்.

போகவிட்டுப் புறஞ்சொல்லித் திரிய வேண்டாம்

 ஒரு கோவிலுக்கு அருகில் பெரிய குளம் இருந்தது. அந்த குளத்திலே ஒரு பக்கம் தாமரைக் கொடிகளும் எதிர்பக்கம் அல்லிக் கொடிகளும் வளர்ந்திருந்தன. அந்த குளத்திலே கெண்டை, கெளுத்தி, விரால், குரவை, தவளை, நண்டு, நத்தை, aஆமை, தண்ணீர் பாம்புகள் என்று நீரில் வாழும் உயிரினங்கள் நிறைய இருந்தன. அதில் விலாங்கு என்கிற மீனும் இருந்தது.

இந்த விலாங்குமீன் தந்திரம் தெரிந்த மீன். இதன் தலை பாம்பு போல இருக்கும்; வால் பகுதி மீன் போல இருக்கும். பாம்புகளிடமிருந்து தப்பிக்க பாம்புகளிடம் தலையைக்காட்டி தப்பித்துவிடும். மீன் கூட்டத்திற்கு தன் வாலைக்காட்டி மீன் கூட்டத்தில் சேர்ந்துகொள்ளும். இந்த தந்திரத்தாலே இது மீன் கூட்டத்திலும்,பாம்பு கூட்டத்திலும் 

சேர்ந்து இருக்கும். இதனால் தன்னை ஒரு அறிவாளியாக எண்ணிக் கொண்டு நீரில் வாழும் மற்ற உயிரினங்களை பற்றி அவை இல்லாதபோது மிகவும் தாழ்வாக பேசும். பெரும்பாலும் சேற்றில் மறைந்து கொள்ளும். 

ஏதாவது பாம்பைக் கண்டால், 

“அண்ணே, வணக்கம்”என்று கூழைக் கும்பிடு போடும். அந்த பாம்பு நகர்ந்து சென்றதும்,

” இது கொஞ்சமும் நஞ்சு இல்லாத தண்ணீர்ப் பாம்பு; இது கடித்தால் யாரும் சாகவே மாட்டார்கள்; ஆனாலும் பாம்புங்கிற  பெருமைக்கு ஒன்றும் குறைச்சலில்லை” என்று அதைப்பற்றி இழிவாகப் பேசும்.

கெளுத்தி மீனைப் பார்த்தால்,

“எல்லா மீனையும் கொத்தி சாப்பிடும்  நாரை, கொக்குயெல்லாம் உனக்குத் தாடையில் முள் இருக்கறதால  

உன்னைக் கொத்தாமல்  பயந்து ஓடிடும்” என்று புகழ்ந்து பேசும். அது நகர்ந்து போனதும்,

“இதெல்லாம் கொக்கு கூட விரும்பாத ஒரு பிறவி” ன்னு  மற்ற மீன்களிடம் கேலி பேசும்.

எதிரே நண்டு வருவதைக் கண்டால்,

“நண்டு நண்பா, உன்னைப்போல். எனக்கும் கொடுக்கு இருந்தால் எல்லாரும் என்னைப் பார்த்து பயப்படுவார்கள்” என்று பயப்படுவது போல கூறும். அது சென்றதும்,

“கொடுக்கு இருந்தால் மட்டும் போதுமா? இது தலையே இல்லாத முண்டம்தானே;தலையில்லாட்டி மூளை எப்படி இருக்கும்” ன்னு அதன் உருவத்தைக் கேலி பேசும்.

ஆமையைக் கண்டால்,”நண்பா,உன்னைப்போல் பாதுகாப்பான ஓடு யாருக்குமே இல்லை; ஆபத்து வந்தால் ஓட்டிற்குள் 

பதுங்கிக் கொள்வாய்;உன்னை கொல்லவே முடியாது” ன்னு பாராட்டிப் பேசும். அது அகன்றதும்,”இதெல்லாம் நீரிலிருந்து தரைக்குச் சென்றால், இதைத் திருப்பிப் போட்டு ஒரு அடி கொடுத்தால் ஆள் அதோடு காலி’ ன்னு ஏளனம் பேசும்.

விரால் மீனைப் பார்த்தால், “அண்ணே,நீதான் இந்த குளத்துக்கே ராசா. உனக்குத்தான் அதிக விலை தருகிறாங்க; நீதான் பணக்கார மீன்” ன்னு பாராட்டும்.அது போனதும்,”என்ன பெரிய விரால்? என்னோட சதைசுவைக்கு முன்னாடி நிற்கமுடியாது”ன்னு ஏளனமாகப் பேசும்.

இதுபோல எல்லா உயிரினங்களையும் எதிரில் புகழ்ந்து பேசி, அவற்றை போகவிட்டு பறம் பேசுவதைேயே வழக்கமாக 

வைத்திருந்தது.

ஒருநாள் தூண்டில்காரர் ஒருவர் போட்டு வைத்திருந்த தூண்டிலில் இந்த விலாங்கு மீன் மாட்டிக் கொண்டது. குளத்திலிருந்த எல்லா உயிரினங்களையும் கூப்பிட்டு காப்பாறும்படி கெஞ்சியது.

பாம்பு,” நான் நஞ்சு இல்லாத வெறும் தண்ணீர்ப் பாம்பு” ன்னும்,

கெளுத்திமீன்,”என்னோட தலையில் உள்ள முள் உன்னைக் காப்பாற்றாது” ன்னும்,

நண்டு,” எனக்கு

தலை இருந்தால்தானே உன்னைக் காப்பாற்ற மூளை இருக்கும்”ன்னும்,

ஆமை,”நானே ஓட்டுக்குள் ஔிந்து கொண்டு இருக்கேன்” ன்னும்,

விரால்,”உன்னைக் காப்பாற்ற நான் வந்து மாட்டிக் கொண்டால், உன்னை விட்டுவிட்டு பணக்கார மீனுன்னு என்னைப் பிடிச்சுக்கிட்டு போய் 

விடுவர்”ன்னும் பதில் சொல்லி  யாருமே காப்பாற்ற முன்வரவில்லை.

“போகவிட்டுப்  புறம் சொல்லி” விலாங்கு மீன் எல்லாரிடமும் கெட்டபெயர் வாங்கியதால் எல்லாரும் ஒதுக்கிவிட்டார்கள். எனவே, நாமும் இந்த தவறை செய்யாமல் நேர்மையாக வாழ்வோம்.

நஞ்சுடனே ஒருநாளும் பழகவேண்டாம்

 நஞ்சினை தன்னிடம் கொண்ட பாம்போடு ஒருபோதும் பழகக்கூடாது! இதுபோல் நஞ்சினை ஒத்த  தீயஎண்ணம்,தீயசெயல் கொண்டவர்களோடு ஒருநாளும் நெருங்கிப்பழக வேண்டாம்! இதுவே நமக்கான அறிவுரையாகும்.

இந்த நீதியை விளக்கும் ஒரு கதையைப் பார்ப்போமா….

ஒரு காலத்தில் ஜமீன்தார் மாளிகையாக இருந்த  கட்டடம் இன்று இடிந்து சிதிலமாகி கிடக்கிறது. அந்த பாழடைந்த மாளிகையில் எலி, பெருச்சாளி, காட்டுப்பூனை, பூனை,பாம்பு, கீரி,வௌவால், ஆந்தை, கழுகு, போன்றவிலங்குகள் வசிக்கின்றன. அங்கு சுத்தமாக மனித நடமாட்டமே கிடையாது. அந்த இடிந்த மாளிகையிலும் சுற்றி உள்ள இடங்களிலும் மரங்களும் செடி கொடிகளும் புதர்போல மண்டிக்கிடக்கின்றன. மாளிகைக்கு சிறிது தொலைவில் பயன்பாட்டில் இல்லாத  ஒரு குளம் உண்டு. அதில் நிறைய மீன்கள், நண்டுகள், தவளைகள், நீர்ப் பாம்புகள், நீர்க்கோழிகள் என பலதரப்பட்ட உயிரினங்கள் வசித்தன.

பாழடந்த அந்த மாளிகையில் இருக்கும் பல  உயிரினங்களில் ஒரு பூனையும் ஒரு ராஜநாகமும் மிகவும் நட்பாக இருந்தன. ராஜநாகம் என்பதால் மற்ற பாம்புகளும் கூட அதற்கு பயந்து ஔிந்து கொண்டன;காரணம் ராஜநாகம் என்பது மற்ற சிறு பாம்புகளை உணவாகப் பிடித்து சாப்பிட்டுவிடும். ராஜநாகத்துக்கு நண்பன் என்பதால் பூனைக்கு கர்வம் அதிகம். மற்ற விலங்குகள் எல்லாம் அதனோடு சேராமல் விலகியே நிற்கும்.

ராஜநாகத்துடன் நட்பாக இருப்பது என்றைக்கு இருந்தாலும் ஆபத்துதான் என்று கழுகு ஒன்று அந்தப் பூனையிடம் அறிவுறை கூறியது; பூனை அதை காதில் வாங்கவே இல்லை.

தினந்தோறும் நிறைய எலிகளைப் பிடித்துவந்து நண்பன் ராஜநாகத்துக்கு பூனைகொடுப்பதை வழக்கமாக வைத்திருந்தது. அதுமட்டுமல்லாமல் குளத்திலிருந்து தவளை, மீன், நீர்ப்பாம்புகளையும் பிடித்துவந்து கொடுக்கும். இதனால் ராஜநாகம் உணவுக்காக தேடி அலையும் சிரமம் இல்லாது போயிற்று; பூனையிடம் யாரும் வம்பு வைத்துக் கொள்ளக்கூடாது என்று ராஜநாகம் எல்லாருக்கும் எச்சரிக்கை செய்தது. இது எல்லாருக்கும் எரிச்சலைக் கொடுத்தது.

ஒருநாள் எலிகள் எல்லாம் ரகசியக் கூட்டம் போட்டன.சில நாட்கள் யாரும் பூனையின் கண்ணில் படவே கூடாது என்று முடிவு செய்தன. குளத்தில் இருந்த மீன், பாம்பு போன்றவை குளத்தின் கரைபக்கமே வராமல் குளத்தின் நடுவிலேயே சில தினங்கள் இருக்க முடிவு செய்தன.

அடுத்தநாள் பூனை எலிகளைத் தேடி அலைந்தது;கிடைக்கவில்லை. குளக்கரைக்கு சென்றால் அங்கேயும் யாரையும் காணவில்லை.பூனைக்கு ஒன்றுமே புரியவில்லை. அதற்கும் பசி வந்து வாட்டியது;பூனைக்கே உணவு கிடைக்காதபோது பாம்புக்கு எங்கிருந்து உணவு கொடுப்பது.

பூனை எலியைப்பிடித்துவரும் என்று பாம்பு காத்திருந்து பசியால் துடித்தது. பூனைமீது அதற்கு கோபமாக வந்தது.

சூரியன் மறைந்து இருள் வந்தவுடன் எங்கிருந்தோ தவறிப்போய் ஒரு எலி வந்தது. ஒரே பாய்ச்சலில் அதைப்பிடித்து பூனை சாப்பிட ஆரம்பித்தது. அந்தநேரம் பார்த்து ராஜநாகம் அங்கு வந்தது. எலியைப்பிடித்து பூனை சாப்பிட்டுக் கொண்டிருப்பதைப் பார்த்தவுடன் அதற்குக்  கோபம் தலைக்கேறியது.” என்னை பசியில் துடிக்க விட்டு நீ மட்டும் எலியைப் பிடித்து சாப்பிடுகிறாயா”என்று கேட்டபடியே பூனையை ஓங்கி கொத்தி நஞ்சை அதனுடம்பில் பாய்ச்சியது;பூனை துடிதுடித்து இறந்தது.

வாயில் நஞ்சு வைத்திருக்கும் பாம்புடன் பழகக்கூடாது. என்றைக்கிருந்தாலும் அது நம்மை ஆபத்தில் கொண்டுபோய் விடும் என்பதுதான் நமக்கான நீதி.

 (அதைப்போலவே எண்ணத்திலும் செயலிலும் தீமை கொண்டவர்களிடம் பழக்கக்கூடாது; அவர்களால் நமக்கு ஆபத்து நேரும் என்பது நமக்கான அறிவுரையாகவும் கொள்ளலாம்)

நல்லிணக்கம் இல்லாரோடு இணங்கவேண்டாம்

 அது ஒரு அழகிய சிற்றூர். ஆனாலும் சுற்றியுள்ள பல சிற்றூர்களுக்கு அதுதான் பல வகையிலும் ஆதாரமான ஊர்.அந்த ஊரில் ஒரு காவல் நிலையம் உண்டு. அந்த காவல் நிலையத்துக்கு உதவி ஆய்வாளர் ஒருவர் மாறுதலில் வந்தார். அந்த ஊரில் எல்லா வசதிகளும் நிறைந்த வீடு ஒன்றை வாடகைக்கு பிடித்து அவர் குடும்பம் அங்கு குடியேறியது. உதவி ஆய்வாளருக்கு ஐந்தாம் வகுப்பு படிக்கும் மகன் ஒருவன் இருந்தான்.

அவன் பெயர் பாஸ்கர். அவனை அவ்வூரின் நடுநிலைப் பள்ளியில் சேர்த்தார்கள். அந்த பள்ளிதான் சுற்றிலும் உள்ள இருபது ஊர்களின் பிள்ளைகள் படிக்கும் பள்ளியாக இருந்தது. அங்குதான் சாதி மத பேதமில்லாமல் எல்லா தரப்பு பிள்ளைகளும் படிக்க வேண்டிய கட்டாயம்.

உதவி ஆய்வாளர் வீட்டுக்கு அடுத்த வீட்டிலேயே கண்ணையன் என்ற பையனும் ஐந்தாம் வகுப்பில் படித்துவந்தான்.பள்ளி தொடங்கிய இரண்டாம் நாளே கண்ணையன் பாஸ்கருக்கு நண்பனானான். இருவரும் அடுத்தடுத்த வீடு என்பதால் பள்ளி செல்லதும் வீடு திரும்புவதும் ஒன்றாகவே சென்றுதிரும்புவார்கள்.

கொஞ்சம் கொஞ்சமாக மற்ற மாணவர்களிடமும் பாஸ்கர் பழகத் தொடங்கினான். இது கண்ணையனுக்கு பிடிக்கவில்லை.

சில மாணவர்களை இசுலாமியர்கள், சிலரை கிருத்துவர்கள்,வேறு சிலரை தாழ்ந்தவர்கள் என்று கூறி, அவர்களோடு நட்பாகப் பழகாதே என்று பாஸ்கருக்கு அறிவுறை கூறினான்.

“யாராயிருந்தால் என்ன, ஒரே பள்ளியில்தானே படிக்கிறோம்,பழகுவதில் என்ன தவறு ” என்று கேட்டான் பாஸ்கர்.

வீட்டிலும் கண்ணையன் பற்றி அம்மா அப்பாவிடம் கூறினான். அவர்களும் “அப்படியெலலாம் பேதம் பார்க்கக்கூடாது;எல்லாரோடும் நல்லிணக்கமாகவே பழக வேண்டும். நம்மை ஒருவர் ஒதுக்கி வைத்தால் நாம் என்ன துன்பம் படுவோமோ அதைப்போலத்தான் அவர்களும் வேதனைப்படுவார்கள். அதனால் நீ எல்லாரோடும் சமமாகப் பழகவேண்டும்” என்று கூறினார்கள்.

அடுத்தடுத்த நாட்களிலும் கண்ணையன் பாஸ்கரிடம் சிலரது நட்பை துண்டிக்கும்படி வற்புறுத்தினான். பாஸ்கர் அதற்கு இணங்கவே இ்ல்லை.

அன்றைய வகுப்பில் தமிழாசிரியர் உலகநீதியைப் பாடமாக நடத்தினார்.

நல்லிணக்கம் இல்லாதவருக்கு இணங்கக்கூடாது; அவர் நட்பு கெட்டாலும் அதைப் பொருட்படுத்தக் கூடாது என்று விளக்கம் கூறினார்.அவ்வாறு பேதம் பார்ப்பவர்கள் மக்கள் மத்தியிலே புற்று நோயைப் பரப்புபவர்கள் ஆவார் என்று தமது கருத்தையும்  கூறினார்.

இந்த விலாங்குமீன் தந்திரம் தெரிந்த மீன். இதன் தலை பாம்பு போல இருக்கும்; வால் பகுதி மீன் போல இருக்கும். பாம்புகளிடமிருந்து தப்பிக்க பாம்புகளிடம் தலையைக்காட்டி தப்பித்துவிடும். மீன் கூட்டத்திற்கு தன் வாலைக்காட்டி மீன் கூட்டத்தில் சேர்ந்துகொள்ளும். இந்த தந்திரத்தாலே இது மீன் கூட்டத்திலும்,பாம்பு கூட்டத்திலும் 

சேர்ந்து இருக்கும். இதனால் தன்னை ஒரு அறிவாளியாக எண்ணிக் கொண்டு நீரில் வாழும் மற்ற உயிரினங்களை பற்றி அவை இல்லாதபோது மிகவும் தாழ்வாக பேசும். பெரும்பாலும் சேற்றில் மறைந்து கொள்ளும். 

ஏதாவது பாம்பைக் கண்டால்,

கெளுத்தி மீனைப் பார்த்தால்,

“எல்லா மீனையும் கொத்தி சாப்பிடும்  நாரை, கொக்குயெல்லாம் உனக்குத் தாடையில் முள் இருக்கறதால  

உன்னைக் கொத்தாமல்  பயந்து ஓடிடும்” என்று புகழ்ந்து பேசும். அது நகர்ந்து போனதும்,

விரால் மீனைப் பார்த்தால், “அண்ணே,நீதான் இந்த குளத்துக்கே ராசா. உனக்குத்தான் அதிக விலை தருகிறாங்க; நீதான் பணக்கார மீன்” ன்னு பாராட்டும்.அது போனதும்,”என்ன பெரிய விரால்? என்னோட சதைசுவைக்கு முன்னாடி நிற்கமுடியாது”ன்னு ஏளனமாகப் பேசும்.

இதுபோல எல்லா உயிரினங்களையும் எதிரில் புகழ்ந்து பேசி, அவற்றை போகவிட்டு பறம் பேசுவதைேயே வழக்கமாக 

வைத்திருந்தது.

ஒருநாள் தூண்டில்காரர் ஒருவர் போட்டு வைத்திருந்த தூண்டிலில் இந்த விலாங்கு மீன் மாட்டிக் கொண்டது. குளத்திலிருந்த எல்லா உயிரினங்களையும் கூப்பிட்டு காப்பாறும்படி கெஞ்சியது.

பாம்பு,” நான் நஞ்சு இல்லாத வெறும் தண்ணீர்ப் பாம்பு” ன்னும்,

கெளுத்திமீன்,”என்னோட தலையில் உள்ள முள் உன்னைக் காப்பாற்றாது” ன்னும்,

நண்டு,” எனக்கு

தலை இருந்தால்தானே உன்னைக் காப்பாற்ற மூளை இருக்கும்”ன்னும்,

ஆமை,”நானே ஓட்டுக்குள் ஔிந்து கொண்டு இருக்கேன்” ன்னும்,

விரால்,”உன்னைக் காப்பாற்ற நான் வந்து மாட்டிக் கொண்டால், உன்னை விட்டுவிட்டு பணக்கார மீனுன்னு என்னைப் பிடிச்சுக்கிட்டு போய் 

விடுவர்”ன்னும் பதில் சொல்லி  யாருமே காப்பாற்ற முன்வரவில்லை.

“போகவிட்டுப்  புறம் சொல்லி” விலாங்கு மீன் எல்லாரிடமும் கெட்டபெயர் வாங்கியதால் எல்லாரும் ஒதுக்கிவிட்டார்கள். எனவே, நாமும் இந்த தவறை செய்யாமல் நேர்மையாக வாழ்வோம்.

நிலையில்லா காரியத்தை நிறுத்த வேண்டாம்

 புலவர் உலகநாதர் இயற்றிய ‘உலகநீதி’ யில் இரண்டாவது செய்யுளில் உள்ள இரண்டாவது நீதி ‘நிலையில்லா காரியத்தை நிறுத்த வேண்டாம்’ என்பதாகும். இதன் பொருள் : நடவாது என்று தெரிந்த காரியத்தை நிலை நிறுத்தக் கூடாது.இதை விளக்கும் விதமாக அமைந்த சிறுவர்கான கதை நிலையில்லா காரியத்தை நிறுத்த வேண்டாம்.

 பெரிய சோலை ஒன்று இருந்தது. அந்த சோலையில் மயில்,குயில்,மைனா,கிளி, காகம், சிட்டுக்குருவி, ஆந்தை,காடை,வான்கோழி, நீர்ப்பறவையான வாத்து,கொக்கு போன்றவையும், அணில் போன்ற சிறு விலங்குகளும்  ஒன்றுகூடி வசித்தன.மயில் கார்மேகம் கண்டதும் ஆடத்துவங்கும்.

குயில் இனிய குரலில் கூவும்.மைனாக்கள் ஒன்றுகூடி பலவிதமான ஒலிகளை எழுப்பி இங்குமங்குமாக பறந்து கொண்டிருக்கும். அழகான நிறத்தோடு கிளி பறந்து பறந்து பழங்களையும்,சத்தான கொட்டை வகைகளையும் வலுவான அலகினால் உடைத்து சாப்பிடும்.’காகா’என கரைந்து காகம் தம் இனத்தோடு உணவைப் பகிர்ந்து கொள்ளும். ‘கீச்கீச்’ என்று சப்தமிட்டபடியே தங்கள் கூட்டத்தோடு சிட்டுக்குருவிகள் நாலாபுறமும் பறந்தபடி இருக்கும்.

இரவில் கண்விழித்து ஆந்தைகள் ஒலியெழுப்பியபடி இருக்கும். உயரமான மரப் பொந்துகளில் இருந்து கொண்டு காடைகள் ஒலியெழுப்பி சுற்றிலும் பறந்து கொண்டிருக்கும். வான்கோழி தன் இனத்தோடு மட்டிலும் பெரிய குழுவாக இருக்கும். 

பகலில் தரையில் இரைதேடும் இது, இரவில் பறந்துபோய் மரத்தில் மேல் அமர்ந்து தூங்கும்.

எல்லாரும் மயிலின்  அழகையும்,நடனத்தையும் புகழ்வது வான்கோழிக்குப் பொறாமையைக் கொடுக்கும். “எனக்கும்தான் தோகை இருக்கு;ஆனால் என்ன கொஞ்சம் நீளம்தான் குறைவு;என்னாலும் நடனமாட முடியும்” என்று கூறி மயிலை வம்புக்கு இழுக்கும். காகமும்,ஆந்தையும் வான்கோழிக்கு தூபம் போட்டு தூண்டிவிடும்.

ஒருநாள் மாலை நேரம்; மேகம்  கருத்து மழைவருவதற்கான குளிர்ந்த காற்று வீசியது. அந்தநேரம்தான் மயில் தன் அழகிய தோகை விரித்து ஆடும் நேரம். மயில் தன் தோகையை விரித்து ஆடத் தொடங்கியது. சோலையில் இருந்த பறவைகளும் சிறு விலங்குகளும் அங்கே குழுமி மகிழ்ந்து  சப்தமிட்டு ஆரவாரம் செய்தன. இதைக்கண்ட வான்கோழி தன்னுடைய சிறிய சிறகை விரித்து  ஆடத் தொடங்கியது. தன்னால் முடியாது எனத் தெரிந்தும் ஆடுவதற்கு முயன்று மயிலின் முன் அது தோற்று, எல்லாருடைய ஏளனத்துக்கும் ஆளானது.

நடக்காது என்பது நன்கு தெரிந்தும் பொறாமையால் முயன்ற வான்கோழி அவமானப்பட்டு நின்றது. இதைத்தான் செய்யுளின் இந்தவரி உணர்த்துகிறது.

நீதி கதைகள்: மணியால் வந்த சோதனை.. பப்புக்கு என்னாச்சு தெரியுமா?

 ஒருநாள் நல்ல மழை, ராஜன் தனது தோட்ட வேலைகளை முடித்துவிட்டு கிளம்ப வழி பாதையில் சத்தம் கேட்டு அருகில் சென்றான். குட்டியாக மழையில் நனைந்தவாறு நாய் இருக்க அதன் மேல் பரிதாபப்பட்டு ராஜன் தூக்கி கொண்டு வீட்டுக்கு வந்தான். மிகவும் குட்டியாக ஆரஞ்சு மற்றும் வெள்ளை நிறத்தில் புசு புசு என பார்ப்பதற்கு அழகாகவும் இருந்தது. ராஜனுக்கு மட்டும் இல்லாமல் அந்த பகுதியில் இருந்தவர்கள் எல்லாம் அதை பாசமாக கொஞ்ச ஆரம்பித்தார்கள்.

அதற்கு பப்பு என பெயர் வைக்க, அதுவும் எல்லோரிடமும் ஜாலியாக விளையாட ஆரம்பித்தது. நாட்கள் செல்ல செல்ல பப்பு வளர ஆரம்பித்தது. முன்பு சாதுவாக இருந்த பப்புவின் குணாதிசயம் கொஞ்சம் கொஞ்சமாக மாற ஆரம்பித்தது. ராஜனை தவிர யாரை பார்த்தாலும் பின்னால் சென்று அவர்களுக்கு தெரியாமல் கடிக்க ஆரம்பித்தது.

அதிலிருந்து ராஜனின் வீட்டிற்கு வர யோசித்தார்கள். ஆனால் ராஜனுடன் வியாபாரம் செய்பவர்கள் பயந்து பயந்து வந்தார்கள். பலரும் ராஜனிடம் இதற்கு ஏதாவது தீர்வு இருந்தால் நல்லது என கேட்க, ஆட்டு குட்டி கழுத்தில் கிடந்த மணியை எடுத்து பப்புவின் கழுத்தில் கட்டினார் ராஜன். பப்புவும் ஏதோ பெரிய பதக்கம் கிடைத்தது போல மகிழ்ச்சியில் துள்ளி குதிக்க மணியின் சத்தம் தெளிவாகவே எல்லோர்க்கும் கேட்டது. அதிலிருந்து ராஜனின் வீட்டிற்கு வருபவர்கள் உஷாராக ஆரம்பித்தார்கள். மணி சத்தம் கேட்டாலே பப்பு வருகிறது என தெரிந்து கொண்டார்கள். அதன் பிறகு பப்புவால் யாரையும் கடிக்க முடியவில்லை. பப்பு அருகில் வரும் சத்தம் கேட்டதுமே எல்லோருமே ஒதுங்க ஆரம்பித்தார்கள். பப்புக்கு அவர்களின் பாசம் கிடைக்காததால் சோகமானது.

சரி, அவர்கள் தான் தன்னிடம் விளையாடவோ கொஞ்சவோ செய்யவில்லை என்பதை புரிந்து கொண்ட பப்பு மற்ற நாய்களுடன் சென்று விளையாடலாம் என முடிவெடுத்து அங்கிருந்த நாய் கூட்டத்திற்குள் ஜாலியாக உள்ளே நுழைய அதில் இருந்ததில் ஒரு பெரிய நாய் பப்புவை பார்த்து கோவமாக கத்தியது. எதுவும் புரியாத பப்பு என்கூட விளையாட வரமாட்டீங்களா என கேட்டது.

மேலும், பாத்தீங்களா என்கிட்ட மணி இருக்கு.. உங்கள்ல யார்கிட்டயாச்சும் இருக்கா? நான் தான் உங்களை விட கெத்து, அதான் எனக்கு மணி எல்லாம் போட்ருக்காங்க.. சரி வாங்க விளையாடலாம் என கேட்டது. மீண்டும் கோபப்பட்ட அந்த பெரிய நாய், முதலில் கூட்டத்தில் இருந்து தள்ளி நில். அப்புறம் இது ஒன்னும் உன்ன பெருமைபடுத்த மாட்டவில்லை. உன் தொல்லை தாங்காமல் நீ வந்தால் பாதுகாப்பாக இருக்க ராஜன் மாட்டியுள்ளார் என சொன்னதும் சோகமானது பப்பு. அது மற்றவர்களை எந்த அளவுக்கு தொல்லை கொடுத்துள்ளது என்பது அப்போதுதான் புரிய வந்தது. அதில் இருந்து யாரிடமும் வம்புக்கு போகாமல் பாசமாக பழகியது பப்பு.

ஆகையால் சுட்டீஸ் ஒருவரிடம் இருந்து அதிகப்படியான சலுகைகளை எதிர்பார்த்தால் அது பின்னாளில் நமக்கே வினையாக முடியலாம்.

Chasing the Deer

 One day a leopard saw a gorgeous deer grazing within the sun. The leopard was hungry and wanted to hunt the deer for a meal.

"That deer looks delicious. I will be able to quietly go near it and attack! The deer wouldn't even know what struck it," the leopard thought.

On the opposite side, the deer was chewing on fresh, green grass. "This grass is so sweet. I should be coming here every day. The flowers have such sweet nectar, the grass is so supple" thought the deer.

Leopard chasing the deer

Suddenly, in the open land, from a distance the deer could see the leopard slowly crawling towards it. Instantly the deer leapt and ran for its life. The leopard chased the deer.

"I must run faster!" exclaimed the deer, and put all its concentration on putting distance from the leopard.

The leopard, which was not such fast a runner, and had underestimated the deer, soon saw the deer disappearing out of sight.

Moral: Never be over confident of the things you can do.

Cat and the rooster short story for kids

 Once upon a time there lived a cat in a small village. One day it drank some milk from a house. So the house owner beat her mercilessly. So that day inwards she didn’t enter in that village. One day she was very hungry. She kept searching for something good to eat. She has to take some food because her stomach is making noises.

She enters the village carefully.  Suddenly the cat saw a rooster passing by the road. The rooster was eating some grains. The cat thought, “Ah! That is a good rooster. I wish I could eat his flesh. She thought how can I eat him and feed my stomach?  After thinking for some time, the cat got an idea. He went to the rooster and accused him, “You are an irritation bird to the mankind. You start boast in the night time. You don’t let them sleep.”

The rooster was a little surprised. He defended himself by saying, “I boast only to help peoples. I do it for the benefit of mankind. I boast so that they might rise in time for their work. What is your problem?” But the Cat was very hungry. So she replied in anger, “You have given me enough apologies. But I will kill you and eat your flesh.”

The Rooster started to fly but the cat pounced on the rooster and eats his flesh.

Moral: Unnecessary talk with the enemy does not help.

Wolf and The Lamb

 Once there lived a wolf in the dense forest. One fine morning it was thirsty. The wolf went to a stream to quench his thirst. While he was drinking water, he saw a cute lamb that was also drinking water over there. When he saw the lamb his mouth began to water. He turned to the lamb and said, "How dare you make the water muddy? Can't you see that I am drinking water from the same stream?"

The lamb got so much frightened that it could not speak for a while. Then it replied, "Sir, I beg your pardon. The water is running down from you to me. How can I make it muddy?"

The wolf said, "But you bleated me and called me with my names last year" The lamb replied, "Oh Majesty, I was not even born then. How could I abuse you last year?"

The wolf, who was determined to eat the poor lamb, said to it, "Then it must have been your father or mother or brother. You must suffer for your race." Saying so, the wolf caught him, tore him to pieces and ate him up.

Moral: Any excuse is good enough to serve an evil-doer.

The Young Crab and His Mother

 Once upon a time there lived a mother crab with her baby in a pond. One day, the mother crab and her baby were walking together. The baby crab was walking a little ahead of the mother.

After sometimes, the mother crab said, “Oh my dear child, why do you bend towards one side when you walk?”

The baby crab turned back and looked at its mother and asked, “why Mother, what is wrong with the way I walk?” Was I am not looks good while I am walking like this?

The mother crab replied, yes “It does not look good to me.” You look much better when you walk straight and forward.” The young Crab said, “This might be pretty good and true my mother. But I do not know how to walk straight. So, if you will show me how to walk straight, I will promise to do on next moment onwards.”

His mother impatiently agreed and said, “Look at me carefully and you will do it later.

When the mother crab tried to walk straight, it was impossible for her also to walk straight way.

She kept trying, but she could not walk straight. Tired, she said to her son, “I am sorry for scolding you. I myself cannot walk in a straight manner. How can I ask you to do so?” She then told her son, “You continue to walk the way you do!” Then they went their destiny.

Moral: Example is more powerful than speech. 

The Ant and The Dove

 Once upon a time there lived a dove in a big tree. The tree was nearby a spring. It was a hot summer day. An ant was searching for some water. After walking around for some time, she came to that spring. She was trirsty. While making her way to the spring, she slipped and fell into the water.

She started drowining. In the mean time dove was sitting on a branch of a tree. He saw that the ant was in trouble. The dove quickly plucked off a leaf and dropped it into the water near the struggling ant. The ant moved towards the leaf and climbed up there. Soon it carried her safely to dry ground. 

At that time, a hunter was seaching for a bird. He saw the dove was sitting on the tree. He had an arrow and bow. He connected his arrow with the bow and move towards the dove, hoping to kill it. Guessing what he was about to do, the ant quickly bit him on his heel. Feeling the pain, the hunter missed the arrow. The dove was quick to fly away to safety.

Morals: One good turn deserves another.

The Fox and the Crow story

 Once upon a time there was a fox lived in a dense forest. He was hungry. He ran in search of food but could not find anything to eat. While he was walking through his cave, he saw a crow sitting on the branch of a tree. It had a piece of meat in its beak.

His mouth watered. He thought of a plan. He praised the crow for its sweet songs. He prayed to him to sing a song. The crow felt proud with fox's flatering words. After listening from the fox the crow opened its mouth to sing a song ka ka..., When he opens his heak, its own piece of meat fell down from his beak. The fox took it away and ate it without second thought and went away happily.

Moral: Beware of flatterers.

The Clever Cap Seller and the Monkeys

 There was a cap seller in a small village. He used to go from village to village to sell the caps. He always used a basket for over the head to carry the caps. He always used to go to the town using by a short cut road throughout the forest.

It was a hot summer day and it was very hot. He got tired by walking. To get some rest he sat under a shaded tree.

Soon he fell asleep under the shadow of the tree. Many monkeys were living on that tree. When they saw the caps they climbed down the tree and each one of them put a cap on their head. Then they climbed up the tree again.

The cap seller woke up after some time. He found that his caps were missing. By chance he looked up and saw the monkeys wearing his caps. He tried his best to get his caps back but all his efforts were in vain.

Suddenly an idea struck his mind. He took off his own cap and threw it on the ground. Monkeys did the same as they are imitators. The cap seller collected all his caps and went away happily.

Moral:

Intelligence works wonders.

The Cunning Fox and the Goat

 Once there was a fox living in a forest. He was roaming around the jungle for his foods. By chance, he fell into a well. He tried his level best to come out but all in vain. So, he had no other alternative but to remain there till the next morning. He asked his friend but they didn't help him. The next day, a goat came on that way. She peeped into the well and saw the fox was there. The goat asked, what are you doing there, my dear?

The fox replied, I came here to drink water. How sweet and cool this water in this hot summer days. It is the best I have ever tasted. Come and you want some water. Without second thought, the goat jumped into the well. He quenched her thirst and looked for a way to get out.

Then the fox said, I have an idea to get rid of this well. You stand with your back legs. I will climb on your head and get out. Then I shall help you to come out too. The goat was innocent enough to understand the bad idea of the fox. He did as fox said to him. Now the fox get out of the well with a jump and walked away. The fox said, Had you been intelligent enough, you would never have got in without seeing how to get out. I can't help you.

Moral: Look before you leap.  Do not believe blindly and walk in to anything without thinking.

The Foolish Brahmin and His Goat

 Once there lived a Brahmin in a small village. He was very innocent and simple minded person. Once he bought a goat from the market. He was going back to his home. He met three thieves on his way.

They saw that goat was very nice and they wanted to take the goat from the Brahmin any way and they will have a good feast. One thief came to Brahmin and said "Why are carrying a dog on your shoulders? It is very ugly?" Brahmin thought for some time and walk on his way.

After some time, he met another thief. He said "Why are you carrying a calf on your shoulders?" The brahmin became doubtful. After some time, the third thief said," Are you a fool? Why are you carrying a worthless donkey on your shoulders?" But the brahmin thought some thime. Now the Brahmin became sure that he was not carrying a goat. He thought it may be a ghost. Thinking like this he threw down the goat and run away from that place.

Moral: Do not be too innocent to see through the trick of others.

The Greedy Old Woman and Her Hen

 Once there was a old woman in a village. She pet a hen in her home. That hen was so wonderful and that laid a golden egg every day. She was extremely happy with her hen. She took that egg to the market everyday and sell it. In that income she buy something for her. 

She was not happy while going to market everyday. After some days later one egg could everyday not satisfy her greed. It was a slow process to get only one egg after every twenty four hours.

So she said to herself, "'One egg a day it will take long to be rich." She was impatient that she wanted to get all the egg at a time. Thinking of this she made up her mind to put the hen to kill and become rich in an overnight.

She took a knife to kill the hen. She catches the hen and cut her belly. She began to look for the eggs inside the belly but there was no eggs. She cried but in vain. 

She saw that his hen was just like other hens. By her stupid act she lost even the one egg she used to get every day. Thus the foolish fellow lost the hen that laid a golden egg daily.

Donkey and The Salt Merchant

 Once upon a time there lived a merchant in a small village. He was a salt merchant. He had a donkey to carry the salt load to the market. He sell his salt in the market. He had to cross a stream in the usual way to the market.

Once his donkey fell into the stream and much of the salt was dissolved in water. The donkey easily crossed the stream due to the light weight of salt on his back. The donkey was so happy happy.

The donkey on his next trip knowingly fell into the stream. The merchant suspected the animal's intention. His master was now sure about the animal's evil intention.

The merchant next day loaded the donkey with a lot of cotton. The donkey once again repeated the same trick. He fell into the stream. This time his load became very heavy.

The donkey carried the heavy load. It was very tiring for him to move on. The donkey now realized his mistake. He stopped falling down into the stream any more. He thought that it was not good to play tricks. The merchant had taught the donkey a good lesson.

Moral: You can be fool a person a few times but not always.

Elephant and the Tailor

 There lived a tailor in a small village. There was an elephant near by the jungle. While going to river to take a bath regularly he passed the tailor's shop. Tailor always gave him something to eat. They were became friends.

As usual one day he put his trunk inside the shop. The tailor was not in a good mood as he had a quarrel with a customer. So he didn't gave anything to the elephant.

The tailor instead of giving him something to eat pricked a needle into his trunk. The elephant silently went away.

The elephant reached the river and took his bath. After that he filled muddy water in his trunk. On his way back he stopped at the tailor's shop and threw all the muddy water on the clothes in the shop. All the clothes were destroyed. Tailor had to bear heavy loss.

Moral: As you sow, so shall you reap?

The king and the foolish monkey

 Once there was an able king ruled in a kingdom. He loves animals so that he had a pet monkey. This monkey was a fool, but was treated royally and moved freely in the king's palace. King was given all the freedom to the monkeys. He was also allowed to enter the king's personal rooms that were forbidden even for the servants. It was happy with the treat given by the King.

One afternoon, the king was asleep, while the monkey kept watching to him. All of a sudden, a fly came in the room and sat on the king's chest.  The monkey influenced him away, but the fly would only go away for some time and return on the king's chest again. 

The monkey got very angry and excited with this fly's activity. The foolish monkey started chasing the fly with a sharp weapon. 

As the fly sat on the king's chest again, the monkey hit the fly with all his strength. The fly flew away unharmed, but the king was severely wounded in the chest and at last he died. 

Moral:

Beware of a foolish friend. He can cause you more harm than your enemy.
